Is there an issue with DTS:X audio on Fast & Furious?

After careful investigation of the DTS:X audio concern associated with Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and DTS confirmed the technical problem is not specific to the discs.

Some AVRs currently display and decode “DTS-HD HR” or “DTS-HD Hi Res” instead of “DTS:X” when playing DTS:X audio from some Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs. This will be addressed via an upcoming firmware update expected this summer.

In the interim, we suggest playback of the encoded "DTS-HD Master" track and ensuring that "DTS Neural:X" mode is selected to take advantage of your height speakers. This will take the 5.1 mix to 5.1.2 channels.
